Triple herbal combination: An effective alternative to benzo, 31st Mar 2010

Reviewer: Julie Goodwin

This is the title of a study into the effect of using a combination of valerian, hops and passiflora to help with sleep, whilst coming off benzodiazepenes.

Benzodiazepines are a group of sedative drugs and the patients taking part in this study had been taking them for an average of 6.8 months. They were coming off the drugs either due to their own request or their physician’s recommendation, or due to poor tolerability. The patients were given the herbal combination to see if it could counteract symptoms sometimes associated with the withdrawal phase from benzodiazepenes.

At the end of the 6-week treatment period, 68% of the patients thought that their sleep quality had improved. 74% indicated that they had more motivation and drive than at the beginning, and day time tiredness improved. At the end of the study, 64% of the patients said that they would continue with the herbal therapy, whilst 34% had improved sufficiently to discontinue therapy.

Dormeasan Valerian-Hops in the Daily Mail, 28th May 2009

Dormeasan Valerian-Hops oral drops is a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the temporary relief of sleep disturbances caused by the symptoms of mild anxiety based on long-standing use as a traditional herbal remedy. It helps to deal with symptoms such as difficulty falling asleep, interrupted sleep, poor quality sleep, mild anxiety and mental stress.

Clinical trials support the traditional use of Dormeasan. In a placebo-controlled trial carried out on Dormeasan at a German sleep laboratory, patients taking Dormeasan spent more time deeply asleep than the patients taking placebo, and had better sleep cycles. The result of deeper sleep on a more regular cycle is that you wake feeling refreshed and restored – something that many people miss out on even when managing to sleep for sufficient hours.

Dormeasan is for use in those over 18. It should not be used with other sleeping medications, during pregnancy or breast-feeding, or with other medication affected by alcohol. (Please note for children we still have Valerian–Hops Complex available).

Our organic tincture is absorbed quickly, unlike a tablet, allowing restful sleep very soon after taking the product.

Sleep it off with Dormeasan, 20th May 2009

Reviewer: Julie Goodwin

We’ve seen studies on the negative effect of lack of sleep on immune function and mental health, but a new study shows that poor sleeping habits can drive people towards excess snacking. Volunteers visiting a sleep laboratory had their sleep patterns monitored and in some cases curtailed, whilst having unlimited access to food.
Sleep restriction was shown to result in increased snacking, especially after 7pm. Calorie intake increased, as participants were more likely to choose high carbohydrate foods.

So, sleep off your munchy cravings as well as avoid the excess calories by using our recently launched traditional herbal remedy, Dormeasan Valerian-Hops oral drops.
